About the Kennel

Pointing and flushing dogs are a way of life at Otter Creek Farmstead. Our dog work is a highlight of the hunting experience for many of our guests, and is often the primary topic of conversation at the end of a day afield. Our selective breeding program is committed to bringing out the best in the field or as a loving pet and companion for your home. We will occasionally breed outside of the Otter Creek Kennel, if an exceptional pairing opportunity presents itself. Our desire is to deliver the same top-shelf experience from our Kennels that we provide as a hunting lodge. We take great satisfaction in seeing our pups come back to Otter Creek with their owners to flush and retrieve birds in the hunt field. In addition to field-bred English Cockers, Otter Creek Kennels also has occasional German Shorthair Pointer, Elhew Pointer, and Brittany Spaniel litters available from our hunting stock. All of our Sires and Dams have proven themselves, their biddability, and their pedigree over thousands of birds.

Why Field Bred English Cocker Spaniel?

Field-bred English Cockers are fantastic hunting companions and pets. Otter Creek Kennels breeds, trains and hunts English Cockers imported from the UK, home to some of the finest field-bred cockers anywhere in the world, as well as field-bred English Cockers with proven genetics from the US. Our foundation stems from dogs sourced directly from the finest lines in the UK and from field champion dogs that have demonstrated superior abilities in the field and loyal companionship at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A NON-REFUNDABLEdeposit of $750 is placed to secure a puppy. Deposits are only valid for the current breeding season. Deposits can be moved from one breeding to another if needed and approved. We take limited deposits on litters based on sex.

    Planed breedings are subject to change; including but not limited to dam or sire change, heat cycle does not occur on time or is later or earlier than planned, and/or total cancellation of breeding pair. Deposits placed will be notified during the process and at time of change, Again, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE but is transferable to another litter.

  • Each puppy come with AKC (American Kennel Club) Limited Registration.

    Limited registration does not prevent you from competing with your dog in AKC sanctioned events. It does prevent you from registering a litter with AKC.

    Limited can be switched to full registration if the following terms are met:

    • OFA certification of hips and elbows at 24 months

    • Title from an AKC sanctioned event such as hunt tests, hunt trials, HRC, dock diving or approved sport AND/OR proven in the field.

    • Approved Breeder

  • Each breeding dog is Embark tested for 200+ genetic disorders/diseases to ensure that you have a genetically and physically healthy companion to join your family.

    Each breeding dog has OFA Certified Hips and Elbows.

  • Puppies are chosen by placement. Otter Creek team work hard to place puppies based on temperament, drive and personality test done on them throughout their 8 weeks of life. Based on your application/phone call, along with the testing we will then place puppies that are top fits for what you are looking for. IF there are multiple prospects, the deposit placed 1st will choose then so on.

    If you place a deposit with a litter and that litter does not produce a puppy that fits your family - you will have options to another litter or next years litter.

    If you place a deposit with a litter and a sex of your choice is not available, as we cannot know sex of the litter until the litter is born, you can choose the opposite sex is available, move to another litter, wait until next breeding season.

  • Each puppy comes with limited AKC registration.

    Age appropriate vaccines and deworming.

    First round of flea/tick/heartworm treatment.

    Transition puppy food, food cup and can lid.

    Each puppy comes started crate training.
